Happiness is a long walk.

I did it. I walked the 25.7k (that last .7k is important because it was tough this year)

I enjoyed almost every moment of it, just the rain as we walked over the mountain was the section that was a drag, but everything else was fantastic.

My target was to finish and to enjoy it with the goal being nothing more than just having a good time and reaching that point of happiness.

Mission accomplished.

Sometimes the goal is nothing more than a feeling, an emotion. Something more gentle than a hard measure.

In life, sometimes a soft goal is ok.

There is never any shortage or shame in setting a soft goal, it is still a goal. The goal of ‘happiness’ made sure I took the time to engage with others, meet new people and hear and receive the encouragement from the people lining the course.

It also meant that I removed the pressure of time… and in doing so time slowed down for me and I was able to see so much more of this amazing country.

As I said.

A soft goal is ok.
